RIODD 2023: Change or collapse?

Multidisciplinary analyses, landmarks, and proposals in the face of the need for a rapid and profound change in our ways of producing, consuming, and exchanging

Call for contributions to the Doctoral Workshop (10/17/2023)

The 18th Congress of the International Network for Research on Organizations and Sustainable Development (RIODD) will take place at the University of Lille (Lilliad, “Cité Scientifique”) from October 17 to 19, 2023 (https://riodd2023.sciencesconf.org/).

The Doctoral Workshop, which is fully integrated into this congress, is a place for meetings and exchanges between Ph.D students from different backgrounds and willing to open up to transdisciplinary approaches. Its purpose is to organize meetings with senior researchers from different fields and multiple research perspectives, and aims at helping Ph.D students to become members of the RIODD scientific community activities.

A part of the Doctoral Workshop will be dedicated to the scientific discussion of the papers presented by the selected candidates. The Workshop will also propose a collective reflection time on the issues of the Ph.D and the post-Ph.D period in France (composition of the jury, publication, qualification, possible professional opportunities, etc.).

Who is eligible to submit a paper?

Every Ph.D student, regardless of its discipline in the social sciences or engineering sciences, may submit an application if the project of communication :

  • falls within the scope of the RIODD (https://riodd.net/)
  • and/or corresponds to one of the themes of the congress (available at: https://riodd2023.sciencesconf.org/)
  • and/or addresses issues related to how organizations take into account the challenges of sustainable development and ecological and social transition.

As the RIODD Doctoral Workshop has a limited number of places, the candidates will be selected by the doctoral organization committee based on the quality of the presented papers.

How and when can you submit a paper?

The communication may focus on the Ph.D project in general for the newly Ph.D students. For those who are more advanced in their researches, you should focus your presentation on a more precise element of the Ph.D or a valorization in preparation (paper, communication, etc.).

A paper presented at the Doctoral Workshop does not in any way preclude the presentation of a paper at the RIODD conference. Moreover, the two papers do not necessarily have to be different.

In order to be able to form coherent discussion groups, the call is made in three steps:

  • By May 26, 2023 June 16, 2023: Submission of a 2-page abstract (with an indicative bibliography of 10 references maximum) on the congress sciencesconf website (https://riodd2023.sciencesconf.org/user/submissions). Please indicate your university, your laboratory, the names of your Ph.D supervisor and your Ph.D ongoing year.A standard form is proposed in the end of this call for papers (available on the sciencesconf website too) in order to give an idea of the expected format.
  • Mid-June 2023: Notification to selected candidates of their acceptance by the organization committee of the doctoral workshop via the email address used on the sciencesconf website.
  • By September 15, 2023: Submission of the final and complete paper (about ten pages, including an indicative bibliography of 10 references maximum). The Doctoral Workshop, as its name indicates, is a workshop aimed at helping participants to advance their research. Therefore, we encourage you to put forward the current issues you may have in your Ph.D work.

The modalities of presentation will be communicated with the notification of acceptance. Also, the schedule and details of the day will be published on the sciencesconf website and sent to your email address in September 2023.

All submissions (abstract and complete paper) must be made on the website: https://riodd2023.sciencesconf.org/user/submissions - type of submission: doctoral workshop - summary / doctoral workshop - complete paper.
